Turn It Around
$15.00
Washington, DC-based singer/songwriter Tom Goss is set to release his third full-length album “Turn It Around,’ a beautiful collection of richly constructed, heartfelt acoustic pop songs.
Produced and engineered by Mike Ofca, ‘Turn It Around’ was recorded in Steubenville, OH at Innovation Studios and features eleven original songs. Inspired primarily by his recent marriage to his partner of five years, ‘Turn It Around’ evokes a gritty passion and fierce intelligence to matters both personal and political. “I tried to focus on romantic and nostalgic notions that drive us. So many songwriters focus on the pain and sadness when they write, to me that's easy. What's harder is stopping and writing when you are on top of the world, capturing something that is racing past you rather than something that has slowed you down” says Goss.

Rise - 2008
$7.00
The second CD from this soulful and energetic DC-based musician—whose former life as a Catholic seminarian gives him an unusual perspective on life and love.
The six songs on Rise showcase Goss’s stylistic flexibility. The urgent growl of “Morning Sun” dissolves into the anthemic title track, in which airy guitars soar above martial snares. Goss steps it up with the syncopated hip-shaker “Come Around” and then channels Let It Be-era McCartney for the somber piano spiritual “A Thousand Times Before.” Rounding out the disc are two love songs: “Bed of Clouds,” a dynamic ballad that juxtaposes tenderness and passion, and “King of Something Right,” a sparklingly beautiful yet unadorned declaration.

Naked Without - 2006
$10.00
Say you’re a young guy who takes the road less traveled, a path that shocks your friends: you decide you want to be a Catholic priest. But seminary isn’t quite what you imagined, and the struggle between your secular and spiritual selves—not to mention the institution—is anything but holy. So you turn back, your faith betrayed, your future blurry. Now what?
If you’re Tom Goss, you make Naked Without, a sonic record of that journey and a celebration of new beginnings.
Don’t expect hymns. Tom offers up surprisingly dynamic and melodic acoustic rock that features muscular guitar, soulful bass, distinctive vocals—and a unique voice. If the 25-year-old has any patron saints, they include David Gray, Dave Matthews, Damien Rice, Ben Folds, and Joss Stone.
The CD’s title, and Tom’s songs, ask some tough questions: In what do you clothe your identity? What—or whom—would you be naked without? What would you sing about then?
Tom’s answers are definitely worth listening to.
