It’s natural you say to hate. I don’t think so.
But you follow me home one day, to prove yourself to me.
You talk my ears off about war, how it made us just a little more whole,
as a nation and as a race, it’s a little more than that.
Now every time I see you, I turn and look away.
I know that I shouldn’t, but I don’t have time to save
all the souls that I see, with hate in their eyes,
too much stubbornness, too much despise.
And I was once told, that I was too nice.
But I can’t see that, you can never bee to kind.
It’s only a matter of time, before we crumble,
if we let hate into our lives, and take control.
Now every time I see you, I turn and look away.
I know that I shouldn’t, but I don’t have time to save
all the souls that I see, with hate in their eyes,
too much stubbornness, too much despise.
You followed me home that day and you opened my eyes and made me see.
You followed me home to make you a conversion but it didn’t happen.
Come walk with me down this old road, to a little place I like to call home.
It’s a mindset that we must all learn and live in from time to time.
To help keep our sanity from shooting off into the breeze.
Due to any man straight from the streets, screams obscenities at me.
Now every time I see you, I turn and look away.
I know that I shouldn’t, but I don’t have time to save
all the souls that I see, with hate in their eyes,
too much stubbornness, too much despise.
